A) What happens when you paint part of the layer mask…black? …white? …grey?

When I painted part black, the top layer is removed to reveal the bottom. The white makes the top layer re-appear. The grey is used to make it opaque.

To get the eye looking like it does me first copied the complete eye and switched over to the other side den I used the eraser tool and smudge to help blend it in with the original background. After I moved the eye over to the other side. I had to invert it so give it that realistic look.

To get the missing part of the news paper I used many tools. To get the news paper on the border I used the clone stamp tool. To get the picture I used the same tool and a little of bit of copy and paste after that I color corrected it which made it look real. Let me mention that this was so damn hard.

1)  How did you enjoy the film? What stood out for you?

I enjoyed the film because it shows us the other side of life. In North America everybody has a decent life. Often we don’t realize what others are going through in the world. I think as a human being it is our responsibility to ensure that everybody child has hope for a bright future. Personally, I liked how the kids improved their photography skills. I also liked how the kids used photography to let others know about their life. These kids never even touched a camera but once they received it, the showed that they have a true talent.

 2) Did you learn anything new about photography, life, and people? What?

I think the movie is more about their struggles then it is about the photography. I learned that if you don’t think the picture is right, you can move the camera to an angle that could make the picture better because of the angle of the light coming. I also learned that no matter what you are going through you just have to follow your dreams. If you believe and work hard enough anything is possible

3) How do you think the world needs to change? How important is this?

I think the world has to change in many different ways. The first change that I would like to see is the world is that every child has a school to go to. I believe education is the answer to every problem. If people are educated they will be able to think better for themselves and the lives of the people will automatically start to change for the better. I think this is extremely important. I would put this above global warming, if we start educating children today it will pay off tomorrow.

4) What are you willing to do TODAY to be a part of that change?

I am willing to put all my time and a little bit of my money to start changing the world. I am only willing to put a little money because I believe it’s not how much money you use, it’s what you use it for. I think if everybody could just put a little bit of money and a little of bit of time into this the dream of sending every child to school could be fulfilled

1) Will a 300 dpi image or a 72 dpi image be clearer when printed out at the same size? How come?

I think it would be clearer even if u print out at the same size because even tough it’s the same size it still had more dpi which means it has more detail.

2) What would a picture created at 1 dpi look like?

 A picture at 1 dpi would be extremely small and blurry. Even if you try to enlarge the picture you will not get any details. It would be impossible for a person to determine what the picture is about. 

1) What combination of tools did you use to isolate the fruit in “fruit_combo.jpg” and where in the image did you use which tool?

I used the combo of the wand tool and the lasso tool. I used the wand tool to take out most of the background in the original picture then I used the magnetic lasso tool to get the bits and pieces that the wand tool left behind.

2) Of the methods you used to isolate the fruit in the 3 pictures. Which method did you find most effective in this case?

I foun    I found using the magnetic lasso tool the easiest because it’s very easy to handle this tool. In this picture the outlines were very easy to identify and that’s what makes this tool the easiest one for me.

Expand makes the selection larger. And contract makes the selection smaller. Feathering creates a faded illusion. It can round of the edges and makes the image look soft.

4)      For the [magic wand] did you figure out what “contiguous” does?

Contiguous allows the magic wand to select more area and increase the tolerance.
